The Path to Profits Isn't a Straight Line

That's how much a $100/ unit bettor is up if they followed every play SoccerPicksClub has made the last 18 months. I don't think there's too many sports bettors out there that wouldn't be thrilled with that level of profit (or even less) if they are being completely honest with themselves. For a bettor with a sizable bankroll betting a nickel per game, that's $55,390.
We are very proud to have returned this level of profits for our members over such a substantial sample size (approaching 2,600 bets made).
It would be easiest on all of us as sports bettors if we simply took our profits and evenly divided them by week into a straight line. So in this example, 111 units of profit divided evenly among 80 weeks, is about 1.4 units per week. This would be ideal for many reasons, but here's the top two for me:
Predictability leads to easy bankroll management
Takes the wild emotional swings out of the process
Unfortunately, we don't live in this perfect sports betting world. In reality, there are often wild swings of sustained strong profits, followed by mediocre periods, followed by terrible losing stretches. But what matters in the end, is that the trend-line (the solid line in the chart above) keeps moving up and to the right!
The chart above is our actual SPC results from January 1, 2021 through July 4, 2022. As you can see, there have been some periods of strong gains, plenty of mediocre runs and a few of those poor down-turns along the way. Put it all together and we get nearly 111 units of profit. But miss the good periods along the way, and you aren't feeling so great about things. Being consistent and playing through the wild swings is the path to long-term profits and what separates the depositors from the bankroll builders. We wrote a similar blog about the importance of market timing before, so we won't repeat ourselves here.
Bottom line is this, the best and most successful sports bettors stick to a trusted approach / system and do their best to keep their emotions in check during the ride. They're never as high as some would think when things are going great, and certainly never down in the dumps as much as some when things are all going against them. If we are being honest with everyone, this hasn't always been our strength and we have to work on this each and every day. But I wouldn't trade the grind of this journey for anything else.
